Float is freedom. It’s feeling weightless and fully present in the moment. There’s no effort, no tension, no resistance—just being and floating with ease.
FLOAT is a program that empowers, fosters healing, and builds trust around the water for especially for marginalized and justice-impacted women by providing access to nature, reclaiming ancestral connections, and removing barriers to engagement. We believe that through community, connection and ritual, we can heal historical trauma, increase water safety, and save lives.
Our Approach
OUR MISSION:
To provide access to bodies of water in order to build trust and confidence around on and around the water, to create safe and social healing spaces in nature and at the water, and to remove the barriers of engagement around hair, equipment, and transportation for women in marginalized and justice impacted communities.
Float shows the different ways that we can have a relationship with water
OUR VISION: That by building and fostering community among marginalized populations of women, we can build ritual practice, teach and empower, and can feel safe in order to increase our livelihoods. By taking these steps, we will learn ancestral wisdom, gain knowledge, and develop skills in an effort to release and heal historical trauma so that these fears will not be passed down to partners and children, therefore increasing water safety and saving lives.
